Members of the Sniglarnir motorcycle club on their annual May 1 group ride in 2019. The Icelandic Transport Authority says registrations of heavy motorcycles have risen by 29 percent over the past decade, while injuries and fatalities have decreased by 26 percent.
A total of 35 people were injured or killed in accidents involving heavy motorcycles in Iceland last year, below the average of 38 casualties per year over the past decade. This is stated in a release from the Safety and Education Division of the Icelandic Transport Authority.
